Global Cities

Yesterday we found ourselves in London with a bit of time on our hands, so Emma and I went with her brother Ben to the Tate Modern on the South Bank. Unknown to us was what I consider one of the best, most interesting, provocative exhibitions I've ever seen. Global Cities is a enthralling introduction, explanation and insight into the phenomenon of the city. Now that 50% of the worlds population is for the first time urban and with massive cities like Mexico City, Tokyo, LA, New York, Cairo, Shanghai, Mumbai, London they become a focus of wealth and poverty, power and helplessness, diversity and segregation all at the same time. In a world of consumption few things are hungrier than a city and the grow all the time. Do watch the Citytellers video under Diversity

If you can visit it and be inspired.
